ABOUT US:

A Purrfect Start was formed in June of 2008 and estabished as a 501(c)(3) organization by May of 2009.

We are a foster based organization and believe that we can make a difference, one animal at a time.  We hope that by taking in homeless animals as space and funds permits,  helping others with homeless animals in their neighborhoods  by having the animals spayed/neutered and/or with food if needed, and educating the public on the importance and need for spaying/neutering, we can acheive that goal.

We have been very successful in acheiving that goal since our organization was founded in June, 2008.  In 2008, we rescued 100 animals and assisted in the spaying/ neutering of 127 other animals.  It has been our goal to continue to match those numbers each year since we are a small, all volunteer rescue, we want to be able to stay within our mission and goals.

As of December 2023, we have rescued 2079 animals (cats and dogs) and assisted in helping over 2352 feral and free roaming cats since A Purrfect Start was formed. We hope with continued support and working with others in rescue, we can continue to help more each year.
